Metal Health Awareness
Listening to metal music is proven to have therapeutic benefits. Yes, really! In honor Mental Health Awareness Month, copywriter Ben Creekmore and I channeled our love for the genre in order to create Metal Health Awareness, juxtaposing iconic metal music iconography with a twist on common therapy terms. In order to keep in line with positive and self care, I implemented a “hard input, soft output” approach to flip metal album artwork on its head; pairing my own hand-drawn illustrations and classic metal fonts with a softer color palette of blue and yellow, which psychologically induce calm.
We created playlists on Spotify with respective sub-genres to enjoy, and expanded our world of Metal Health into OOH and wild postings. Scan the playlist icon on the images to listen to our playlists.
