Pepper Palace: Product Animations for Social

Pepper Palace is a hot sauce chain known for creative sauces, and even more creative recipes. When I was commissioned to do product photography for the brand by Peterson Inc., I decided to showcase their innovative recipes that showcased unexpected ways to incorporate their products, encouraging their customers to rethink the way they use hot sauce.

I visited the Pepper Palace location in National Harbor, MD where manager Linda provided a list of recipes that she uses for product demos in store. The Pepper Palace website also features recipes online, though few know about it. The animations were created and intended to be shared across social media, where customers can experience these recipes often only shown in the store front, and learn about the recipes featured online.

For the animation, I cooked all the recipes using the products myself, then filmed the food using a green screen so I could substitute the background with Pepper Palace’s red. I used a small rig to animate the floating utensils, then keyed it out in post.
