Block party

During the residency at TBWA\MAL, we were given the ultimate brief to create our ideal agency. We had three core values: diversity, accessibility, and community. Block Parties are events that bring parts of the community together in a celebration of different walks of life contributing to the whole. With a playful inverse color scheme and the motif of eight building blocks representing the eight residents, we were able to construct a full website, social, and event invites that promoted our agency.

Building up

Our agency wanted to help provide as many resources as possible. Block Club is a step by step on-boarding program that helps candidates get and stayed informed on how to navigate advertising as a career path.

Events

The agency would host block parties that doubled as recruiting events, so prospective candidates and professionals could interact with each other in a more laid back environment. These events would be promoted digitally and physically with signage and postcards, reminiscent to how block party invites were typically distributed. We also hosted Coffee Shop Consults, a community service en devour where small businesses would received professional advice from the agency in the comfort of their local coffee shop.

Social

We wanted to use these platforms as a means to spread the word on our upcoming events and community resources, as well as to educate the general public on what advertising is really about. We debunked common ad myths in posts and redirected users to our site to gain more information.

Website

To bring these ideas together, we built a Block Party website from scratch, highlighting our ideals and catering the site’s navigation based on our visitors’ roles as potential clients, employees, or community members wanting to join our network.
